A strong house, unintimidated by the elements. The contrast between nature and the built form intensifies nature and creates an exciting tension. Locals call it ‘the Coogee Castle’.

The experience of living in the house had to be memorable, never boring or predictable. 

And it had to be a place where your troubles drop away at the front door.

Its distinctive design, references to classical architecture and use of materials such as in-situ concrete and sandstone have made this enigmatic house one of the most photographed and filmed homes in Australia.
